Tomorrow we have the hydrogen peroxide solution lab. Please come ready to the class by reading over the lab ahead of time. You may work in partners.
The quiz for 13.1 and 13.2 are marked. I will pass them back tomorrow close to the end of class once your lab is completed. Looking at the quizzes many of you used the oxidation number method instead of the reduction half-reactions method when answering questions. A quick reminder that Chem 30 is a tough course-one which requires homework be done on a regular basis and that you seek help as soon as you don't understand something. For those who are struggling in this course here are a few suggestions to help improve your understanding of Chem 30 and thus improve your mark:
I have added the answers to Chapter 13 review on to the "Helpful Resources" under the "Electrochemistry" tab. I suggest trying a few review questions and checking your answers. I have also added a few worksheets along with the answer keys. I will be handing these worksheets out in class. The date for the chapter 16 quiz will be on Tuesday instead of Monday.
I have added some worksheets and other resources that will help you better understand ICE tables. It is located under the more tab.
I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing Christmas! =)
Welcome back! I have added a few items that will help you study for the diploma. Remember that this exam is cumulative so it contains all the units we have covered in Chemistry 30. To find the items I have added please click on the heading entitled "MORE" and scroll down to "Extra Resources" and click on "Diploma Preparation." We have a busy schedule when you return from your holidays. Here are important dates to remember: (Please note that dates of the quiz & test may change if it conflicts with a district exam).
Thanks! Mrs. Pilipchuk There is a test on chapter 15 on Monday, December 14th.
Your group lab is due this Friday. Only one lab write-up is required for each group. Please use the lab hand-out to help you write up your report.
